Skin Solutions - Skin Tags and Bumps

Condition: Skin Tags and Bumps

A skin tag is a condition characterized by a piece of skin that projects or hangs from the surrounding skin like a stalk. Skin tags vary in size and shape (as tiny as one millimeter or as large as 5 centimeters) and can appear anywhere on skin however, they appear most commonly on the eyelids, neck, armpits, upper chest and groin. They may be rough or smooth, pigmented (darker color) or flesh colored and either hang from the skin or are simply raised above the surrounding skin. A skin tag is an abnormal growth and therefore a tumor; however, it is a benign tumor (not malignant). The medical term for a skin tag is cutaneous papilloma or acrochordon and while there is no definitive medical cause for skin tags, there have been varied theories. Since a skin tag is an abnormal growth, oxidation may be playing a role especially as skin tags usually appear on the skin around middle-age or older as a result of years of compounded exposure to the sun?s oxidizing UV rays.

Traditional treatments for the removal of skin tags include:

  1. Freezing the skin tag with liquid nitrogen (procedure referred to as cryotherapy) or;
  2. Tying off the skin tag with a suture or thread to cut off the blood supply (procedure referred to as legation)
  3. Cutting the skin tag off with a scalpel or surgical scissors

These traditional approaches may require a local anesthetic and can be invasive, irritating, cause sensitivity, or result in a small scar.

The Wellness Solution

Our wellness approach to skin tags uses naturally derived, freshly activated 12% L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) (pharmacological levels) followed by 5% pure, natural vitamin E. "Attacking" the skin tag twice daily with these nature identical vitamins will cause the tag to begin to scab and then simply fall off. This process may take a matter of days, weeks or months however, the potential time period is worth the results of:

  • Gently sloughing off the tag leaving the affected area normalized
  • No scarring
  • Non-irritating, non-invasive remedy
  • Natural melanin of skin in the affected area is maintained as if the tag where never there

If frequent exposure to the sun is anticipated, application of a Broad Spectrum sunscreen formulated with zinc oxide is recommended following the application of the freshly-activated C and pure natural vitamin E to protect the skin against oxidative free radicals that can premature signs of aging. Clinical research confirms that vitamin C and vitamin E are necessary to reduce the free radical activity of UVA and UVB rays. Zinc oxide, one of only two sunscreen ingredients approved by the FDA, has been clinically proven to be more effective in protecting skin against long-wave UVA than titanium dioxide.

Zinc C Serum is a wonderful product! I have been able to remove three rather large skin tags and several dark, freckle-type moles.

I had a large skin tag on my eyelid that was getting bigger. I had my doctor look at it and he said he couldn't remove it. I read about Malibu Wellness' Vitamin C and Vitamin E products on the malibuwellness.com web site and decided to give the skin care a try. Within 2-3 weeks, the skin tag came off completely and has never returned (over a year later). You can't even tell it was ever there! I would definitely recommend Malibu Wellness' Vitamin C Serum and Wrinkle-Less Moisturizer.

I have used Malibu Wellness’ VItamin C Serum for many years for my face with great results; however I had not thought to apply it to my skin tags. Just prior to Thanksgiving 2006 I started applying to the skin tags 3 to 4 times a day. The first week of January 07 they actually fell off! I continue to use the products on a daily basis and will continue to do so throughout my life. I would recommend Vitamin C Serum to anyone for their skin, IT IS GREAT!

I had a skin tag and the dermatolgist wanted to snip it off and I said "No way, I'll deal with it." I started using Vitamin C Serum, applying it right on the skin tag and in six weeks it fell off.

The client used the Vitamin C Serum and WrinkleLess Moisturizer for one week and the lump came up to the surface, came to a head and then drained for an hour. The lump is now gone and the client was able to avoid surgery. She is of course thrilled. …She is now a dedicated Malibu C client.

I was actually shocked. The bump has gone down, too. My skin isn’t red anymore; it’s actually 97% better! What I like about this is the fact that it’s natural. I’m very much into holistic health practices, so the fact that I didn’t have to use laser surgery and was able to use vitamins is just great.

...A skin “tag” (or excess flap of skin) had developed. “It used to be such a problem trying to put eyeliner on. One doctor had told me I would need surgery to get it removed. After day 10 of the Zinc C Serum application, it literally fell off!
